New hobbit has arrived …..

A rather unusual story: the cover is almost identical to a Hobbit published in Moscow in 2014 (see Rus 49).
According to the book, the publisher was RDC in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Other sources claim the book was published in Ukraine in 2021, intended for sale in Kazakhstan.
Could it be a pirate edition?

This Hobbit is # 974 in my Hobbit collection.

NEW HOBBIT HAS ARRIVED …

This time a Hobbit in Russian but printed in Ukrania arrived.
It was a gift from Oleg, who helped me enormously with translating Ruassian names of translators and illustrators into English.
Thanks again, Oleg!

Cover looks like a cover by the Bros., Hildebrandt?

This Hobbit is # 973 in my Hobbit collection.

NEW HOBBIT HAS ARRIVED ….

For the first time – as far as I know – there is an Eglish Hobbit not published by HarperCollins or redecessors: this time published by WARWICK International Publishing House London.
Same ISBN and cover we see in the first Australian Hobbit (Ingram Content Group Australia, also in 2024).

paperback with many illustrations in b&w.

This Hobbit is # 972 in my Hobbit collection.

SIX NEW HOBBITS ARRIVED ….

Indeed, 2026 started off well with no fewer than six new Hobbits, thanks to Brigitte from Germany.
This brings the total number of Hobbits to 971. 1,000 is getting closer and closer.

TWO NEW HOBBITS HAVE ARRIVED …

This time two oldies joined the collection.

In 2004, a hardback edition of The Hobbit was published in a slipcase. It featured illustrations by Tolkien himself. My collection included the edition printed and bound in Italy. However, I also have two other editions: those printed and bound in China and those in Hong Kong. Their ISBN numbers are different from those of the Italian edition.
I have now added them to my collection.

Here they are all three:

Printed in:
Italy, China, Hong Kong
